Warranty Statement

SCI International Trust Center

General statement — specific contract terms prevail

SCI designs and manufactures environmental simulation and ultra-low-temperature equipment for professional use. This Warranty Statement summarises our general approach. The warranty period, covered equipment, service location, response arrangement and remedies for an individual project are those stated in the final SCI quotation, order confirmation, technical agreement or sales contract. Those written project documents prevail over this page.

1. General coverage

During the applicable warranty period, SCI will evaluate reported defects in materials or workmanship that arise under normal installation, operation and maintenance in accordance with the supplied instructions and agreed operating conditions. Where a covered defect is confirmed, the applicable remedy may include remote diagnosis, repair guidance, replacement parts, depot repair or on-site support, as specified in the relevant contract.

2. Conditions of coverage

  • The equipment must be installed, commissioned, operated and maintained by qualified personnel in accordance with SCI documentation and agreed site requirements.
  • Electrical supply, cooling water, ventilation, drainage, ambient conditions, samples, fixtures and other utilities must remain within the agreed limits.
  • The equipment model and serial number must be identifiable, and maintenance and fault records must be reasonably available.
  • SCI or an authorised service partner must be given a reasonable opportunity to diagnose and correct the reported issue.

3. Items normally excluded

Unless a written project document states otherwise, warranty coverage does not normally include:

  • Consumables, routine maintenance items and parts subject to normal wear.
  • Damage caused by misuse, overload, incorrect test profiles, unsuitable or hazardous samples, corrosion, contamination, fire, flooding, unstable utilities or external equipment.
  • Unauthorised modification, repair, relocation, software changes or use of non-approved parts.
  • Damage during transport, lifting, storage or installation performed outside the agreed SCI scope.
  • Cosmetic deterioration that does not affect function, or performance changes caused by missing calibration or maintenance.
  • Force majeure and other events beyond SCI’s reasonable control.

4. How to request support

Contact info@scicoolings.com with the equipment model, serial number, delivery or commissioning date, site location, fault description, alarm history, recent test profile and relevant photographs, videos or data logs. For safety, stop operating equipment where continued use could cause injury or further damage.

5. Diagnosis and service method

SCI may begin with remote diagnosis to identify the cause and determine the safest, fastest remedy. Parts shipment, return-to-factory work, local authorised service or on-site attendance will be arranged according to the contract, fault assessment and service location. Travel, access, customs, lifting or local labour costs are allocated according to the applicable written agreement.

6. Calibration and performance verification

Warranty service does not replace periodic calibration, preventive maintenance or validation required by the customer’s quality system or applicable standards. Following a repair that could affect measured performance, SCI may recommend or require calibration or verification before the equipment returns to critical testing.

7. Replacement parts and repaired items

Replacement and repaired items may be new or functionally equivalent. Coverage for such items continues for the period stated in the applicable contract or service document; it does not automatically restart the original equipment warranty unless agreed in writing.

8. Limits and local law

This statement does not create a warranty period or remedy beyond the written project documents and does not exclude rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. SCI’s liability, where applicable, is subject to the limitations in the relevant sales contract.
